By Emmanuel Oladele - Premier League Giants Liverpool on Wednesday outclassed Spanish side Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League second Semi-final at Anfield, 2-0 it ended in favour of the Reds.
After a goalless first half, Jurgen Klopp led side opened scoring in the 53rd minute, following Pervis Estupinan own goal that earned Liverpool the lead in the second half. The Ecuadorian deflected Henderson's cross to beat Rulli near post. Two minutes later Sadio Mane pokes home the second goal for Liverpool. The Senegalese collected Mohamed Salah's throughball before beating Rulli with a low strike.
Villarreal defensive wall could not stop the Reds who attacked from the beginning of the game till the end. The Yellow Submarines counter attack tactics failed to work against a determined Liverpool side who dominated the entire game.Klopp's side will now go into the second leg with a 2-0 advantage, and will hope to continue their good run of form against Villarreal in Spain next Tuesday.
