While handling the keys to the buss to the Chairman, Clement Kumbi Titiloye, the Governor said the gesture was to ease transportation problems of the team, adding that other challenges will soon be taken care of.
He charged the team to reciprocate the gesture by stepping up their game, and compete fairly, in the ongoing 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).While reacting to the gesture, the club Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye appreciated the Governor, for what he described as a "morale booster".
"It's absolutely a morale boosting gesture, and we must appreciate Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. It will go a long way in assisting the team's cause.
"I will also want to appeal to him to look into the club's additional demands, especially in the ongoing season, as we hope to achieve the targets set.
Kwara United currently occupies the 6th position on the NPFL table, as the Chairman says the target set is still achievable, considering the numbers of matches yet to be played.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Mogaji commended the Governor for approving the bus for the team, pointing out that the gesture will propel the team to do better.
"It's a commendable gesture, as it will reduce the transportation associated problems of the team, and also propel them to do better in the ongoing league.
"We know there are other challenges. Government will do the needful at the appropriate time, but the team too has to encourage the government to do more, with improved performances.
