By Olamide Oyetunji - Ace Premier League commentator Jim Beglin has joined millions of people across the world celebrate Super Eagles of Nigeria for their tantalising display against the Pharaohs of Egypt at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking through excitement, the Irish former professional footballer and current co-commentator for RTÉ, CBS Sports, BT Sport, and Premier League Productions described the Super Eagles as the team to beat in the competition.
According to his social media comment via Twitter, through his verified handle @jimbeglin, the 58-year-old tweeted "Nigeria Looking Strong and Slick" #NIGEGY #AFCON2021 and trophy.
"Wish you were on commentary duty, you would have given us the line that Moses brought the plagues to the Pharaohs." A Nigerian responded to his tweet.
The former Liverpool and Leed United defender stated that "I leave all that to Peter (Drury)."
In a related development, English footballing legend Gary Lineker has hailed Kelechi Iheanacho for his brilliant strike which was the difference against Egypt.
In a tweet on his official Twitter account, the Leicester City legend has directed his total support toward the Super Eagles.
"What a stunning goal from Kelechi Iheanacho. Given the Leicester City connection, Super Eagles of Nigeria are definitely my team in Africa Cup of Nations."
