Rivers Angels thrash Vihiga Queens by 4-0, bow out of CAF Women's Champions League

By Emmanuel Oladele - Nigeria Women Football League Champions Rivers Angels on Friday thrashed Vihiga Queens of Kenya by 4-0, but the win was not enough to prevent the Portharcourt based side from crashing out of the maiden edition of the CAF Women's Champions League.

Super Falcons forward Vivian Ikechukwu scored twice from the Spot in the 67th and 76th minute, while Damilola Koku 80th minute strike takes the scoreline to 3-0 before Gift Monday sealed the victory for the Nigerian side in the 84th minute.

On the other hand, the second group B game between Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies of South Africa and ASFAR Rabat of Morocco ended 0-0 and both sides are through to the semi-final of the maiden edition of the CAF Women's Champions League, they will join Hasaacas Ladies FC of Ghana and Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea in the semi-final, both were first and second respectively in group A.
