By Emmanuel Oladele - Germany became the first Nation besides the host Country Qatar, to officially qualify for 2022 FIFA World Cup after clinching the top spot in Group J of the EURO World Cup Qualifiers on Monday.
The German National Football Team before Monday's games needed a win over North Macedonia and also a win or draw for Romania over Armenia. On Monday, Hansi Flick's led side thrashed North Macedonia by 4-0 courtesy of Timo Werner's Double and a goal each from Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala to go 21 points on the log.
On the other hand, Romania recorded a 1-0 victory over visitors Armenia, thanks to Alexandru Mitria 26th minute strike.
After Monday's game, Germany have recorded 21 points from 8 of possible 10 games and have won Group J of the Euro World Cup Qualifiers. Romania who is second in the group have 13 points from 8 games, and could only get maximum of 6 points from their remaining two group games, which can only push them to 19 points, but still behind Germany who already recorded 21 with two games to spare.
