By Emmanuel Oladele - The Black Queens of Ghana on Sunday evening stunned the Super Falcons of Nigeria with a 1-0 defeat at the Accra Sports Stadium in an Africa Women Cup of Nations Qualifier.
Recall, the first leg of the fixture held on Wednesday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, the Super Falcons of Nigeria defeated the Black Queens of Ghana by 2-0, going into Sunday's second leg with a 2-0 advantage. The fixture finally ended 2-1 on aggregate in favour of the Super Falcons of Nigeria. The Ghanians will not be playing in the 12th edition of the Africa Women's Cup of Nations in Morocco come next year.
Nigeria will now face Côte d'Ivoire in the final round of the qualifier which comes up in February 2022.
The 12th edition of the Africa Women's Cup of Nations holds in Morocco in the summer of 2022. The tournament will also serves as qualifier for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup which hold in Australia and New Zealand.
