By Emmanuel Oladele - The Players and Officials of Rivers United have departed the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos for Dar es Salaam Tanzania via Kenya Airline for their CAF Champions League opener against Young Africans S.C. of Tanzania.
The team took to their verified Facebook account to reveal that they will be departing Nigeria on Thursday Night for Dar es Salaam. According to their post, which read as follows, "Players and officials of Rivers United will this night depart the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos for Dar Es Salaam Tanzania via Kenya Airline

The upcoming game between Young Africans S.C. and Rivers United is a first preliminary round leg 1 of 2 of the 2021/22 CAF Champions League. The encounter holds on Sunday 12th of September, 15:00 WAT (+1 GMT) at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Subsequently the return leg will hold on Sunday 19th of September, 16:00 WAT at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Portharcourt, Nigeria.
A victory for the Portharcourt based in Dar es Salaam will put Rivers United in a good position to progress to the next round.
