Ekiti United Head Coach, Omiponle moves to Warri Wolves

Warri Wolves have appointed Omiponle Samson as their new technical adviser, ahead of the 2021/2022 Nigeria National League, NNL, campaign.

Reports say over 90 coaches were screened by the Management team of Warri Wolves.

In a statement signed by the secretary of Ekiti United fc , Ayodeji Olowolafe, the coach has been appointed new technical adviser of the NNL side after agreeing personal terms.

Omiponle who had been with Ekiti United fc since for over two sessons guided the team to second place finish in the 2021 NNL after taking over the reign following the departure of coach Ayodeji Ayeni who joined Sunshine Stars of Akure last season.

Omiponle is a CAF B license coach who began his coaching career in England before moving to Nigeria where he tutored some Lagos Football teams and later came to join Ekiti United fc.

Biologically, Warri wolves deal is like homecoming for the tactician as his mother was of the Isoko extraction in Delta State and paternally from Ekiti State.

Meanwhile, Sani Sardaunna, former Head Coach of Dynamite fc will be in charge the new Chief Coach of Warri Wolves, while former interim head coach, Paul Offor, returns as assistant coach.

The statement adds that the executive chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, DSSC, Tonobok Okowa, has approved the appointments of the new coaches.

In the meantime, Ekiti United management has wished coach Samson Omiponle the best in his coaching career.
