D'Tigress Captain, Adaora Elonu emerge as 2021 AfroBasket MVP

By Emmanuel Oladele - D'Tigress Captain, Adaora Elonu has emerged as 2021 FIBA Women's AfroBasket Most Valuable Player.

The United State born Adaora was instrumental to Nigeria's 5th title feat at the just concluded Women's AfroBasket Championship in Cameroon.

The 31-year-old has been with the team since 2015 AfroBasket where she won Bonze with Nigeria. She was also one of the key players for Nigeria when they won AfroBasket Gold in 2017 and 2019 before the 2021 feat. In total, Adaora has won, three gold and a Bronze for the Nigeria National Women's Basketball Team.

At club level, she has represented Hapoel Galil Elyon (Israel), Beroil-Ciudad de Burgos (Spain), CB Conquero (Spain), CB Avenida (Spain), Atlanta Dream (USA) and presently with Uni Girona CB of Spain.

Recall, Nigeria won the 25th edition of the FIBA Women's AfroBasket Championship on Sunday in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
