By Emmanuel Oladele - Good news for Enyimba International and Captain Augustine Oladapo as Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeals Committee reduced Oladapo's one-year ban to six months.
At the hearing, (CAF) Appeals Committee revealed that, "The board has decided to reduced the sanction of player Oladapo Augustine from one year to six months. Therefore the player Oladapo Augustine is suspended from taking part in any football related activities until 4th January 2022."
Recall, that the Nigerian was banned in May for testing positive to prednisolone and was banned for one-year. Oladapo's ban being reduced to six months means he will return to football activities from January 5.
Despite the six month ban, Oladapo and Enyimba maintained their stance that any substance found in his sample would be as a result of the anti-Covid-19 medications he was taking at the period the test was conducted.
