Premier League: Arsenal suffer defeat ahead of Chelsea Clash

By Emmanuel Oladele - The Gunners were on the losing end on Friday's night following their 2-0 humiliation from Brentford, it's the first game of the season for Arsenal, and as well first defeat.

Goals from Brentford's Canos and Norgaard in the 22nd and 73rd minutes were enough to give newly promoted Brentford the first win in the top flight since April 1947. The last time the Gunners suffered a defeat in their opening premier league game was in August 9th, 2015, when they lost 2-0 to West Ham.

Arsenal's woe under manager Mikel Arteta seems to have extended to the new season, losing to a club that is playing their first-ever premier league game.

The big question is, will Arsenal ever improve under manger, Mikel Arteta,  considering his series of poor performance in charge of the club?

The Mikel Arteta led side will have a huge hurdles to cross when they face Chelsea in their next match on Sunday, 22nd August, at the Emirates Stadium (16:30 Nigeria Time +1 GMT), and will hope to redeem their image against the Blues, which look very set to upset the Gunners once again.
