Manchester United are close to signing Real Madrid ace Raphael Varane

By Emmanuel Oladele - According to Manchester United Evening News, United are 'inching closer every day' to complete a deal for Real Madrid defender, Varane.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be on the lookout for top defender that will partner Harry Maguire at the back, the Old Trafford side are considering Varane as one of the top options for the purpose.

Manchester United have so far made some progress in the discussion to land the French defender, who is expected to join the Theatre of Dreams this summer.

The 28-year-old who joined Real Madrid from Lens in 2011 has so far made 236 appearances, scoring 8 goals.
