By Emmanuel Oladele - Former D'Tigers player, Ime Udoka has been named Boston Celtics head coach.
The Nigerian-American spent the last nine seasons with San Antonio, Philadelphia and Brooklyn as an assistant coach before being hired by Boston Celtics.
Udoka Succeeded Brad Stevens who was in charge of the team since 2013 through this past season.
The former Brooklyn net assistant beat; Chauncey Billups, Darvin Ham, Jason Kidd and Lloyd Pierce to emerge new Celtics head coach.
Udoka Ime as a player played for; Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings and some other teams.
He also played for the Nigeria National Basketball Team, D'Tigers at African Championships; Algeria 2005 and Madagascar 2011. He's the first Nigerian to be appointed as a NBA head coach.
