Aiteo Cup: Olafimihan Hits Four as Shooting Stars Maul Technobat 8-0

By Tosin Omojola -
Red hot striker Gafar Olafimihan proved his goal scoring form is no fluke, scoring four goals as Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan crushed hapless FC Technobat of Jalingo by 8-0 in an aiteo Cup first round clash.

The Oluyole Warriors expectedly ran over their little known foe, hitting the back of the net four times in each half of the encounter played at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna.
The Edith Agoye led technical crew left no one in doubt about their readiness to go for the kill against the non league side, rolling out a killer squad that was too tough for the Taraba state flagbearers to curtail.

With Laide Okanlawon in goal, well covered by the quartet of Abbey Benson, Elum Henry, Ferinyaro Lanre and Amodu Nurudeen, Isiaka Mutiu, Raheem Quadry and Akilu Muhammed secured the midfiled, while the trio of Opeoluwa Olufemi, Najeem Olukokun and Gafar Olafimihan took charge upfront.

It took the Ibadan soccer lords just ten minutes to open the floodgate of goals when Olafimihan lashed on to a pass from left back Amodu Nurudeen, to slot in the ball.

The Stars doubled their lead in the 28th minute through Opeoluwa Olufemi who put the ball beyond the reach of Technobat goalkeeper, after being put through by Elum Henry.
Central defender Abbey Benson added third in the 35th minute, while Olukokun Najeem converted a 45th minute penalty after Olafimihan was brought down in the box, to end the first half 4-0.
Not satisfied yet, coach Agoye introduced Malomo Ayodeji, Salawudeen Ibrahim, for Opeoluwa Olufemi and Raheem Quadry at the start of the second half.

The Stars extended their lead in the 56th minute though Olafimihan who added two more goals in the 62nd and 64th minute to make it 7-0 before he was substituted for Osaghae Junior.
Nafiu Raheem, who came in as a replacement for Ferinyaro Lanre scored in the 83rd minute to end the one sided tie 8-0.

Shooting Stars will face Gombe United in the next stage of the competition, with the encounter slated to hold in Lokoja on a yet to be announced date.
