Spanish Club Stops Player from Representing Super Eagles

By Olamide Oyetunji - UD Almeria has come out to explain their reasons for not allowing red-hot forward Sadiq Umar to turn-up for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with Benin Republic and Lesotho.

Sadiq Umar has been withdrawn from the Super Eagles squad by the Spanish team as a result of COVID fears according to their official statement which goes with article 3.1b of Annex 1 of FIFA RSTP.

He joins France-based pair of Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu (injury) in pulling out.

He has be replaced by Enyimba International Football Club star Anayo Iwuala.
