PRE-MATCH REPORT

Rivers United v Sunshine Stars: The Brief

RUFC Media | 26th March 2021

By Mayuku Charles - Sunshine Stars FC can go even further above the relegation zone in the Nigeria Professional Football League table on Sunday when they take on the 'Pride of Rivers' at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday.

The 'Owena Waves' are just three places above the relegation zone with 18 points for 17 matches and will seek to improve their poor run of form on the road this season.

Rivers United will be keen to get back in the winning habit following last weekend's demoralising defeat to Lobi Stars FC in Makurdi.

Technical adviser Stanley Eguma knows the task ahead and insist Rivers United is still in the race to winning the NPFL title.

Hear him;

"Yes we are still on. The league is still on. The first half (of the league) is not even over and then we talk of the second round. We are still on and I strongly believe we can go against all odds to contend for the league title."
