Super Eagles Star Named Man of the Match After Scoring Second Goal in Three Days

By Olamide Oyetunji - Super Eagles star Joseph Ayodele Aribo scored a world class goal in the latest Scottish Premier League match for Rangers.

Man of the match Joe Aribo was delighted to get on the scoresheet as Rangers beat Dundee United 4-1 at Ibrox this afternoon.

The midfielder continued his recent fine form with a superb second-half strike to help Steven Gerrard’s side to another three points in the Scottish Premiership.

Gers were 2-0 up at the break thanks to Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent goals, before Aribo and Alfredo Morelos increased the advantage in the second-half.

Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, Aribo said: “The boys are buzzing, we knew it wasn't going to be an easy game.

“We had to start fast and give all we could in the game to get a foothold and just keep going throughout the whole 90 minutes.”

Aribo admitted he had been practicing his shooting technique and was thrilled to see his effort hit the back of the net.

He continued: “Everyone in training says I just like to finesse and curl it but I've been practicing so I just thought I would put my laces through it and thankfully it went in.

“I just want to finish the season strong, keep pushing, keep going and giving all that I can and I am happy that I'm getting positive results.”

The games continue to come thick and fast for Gers as attention now turns to Thursday night’s second-leg tie against Royal Antwerp.

Aribo added: “It's a big game and it’s knockout football. We know what we have to do and we just have to focus, get ready, dust ourselves off and move on to that.”

Meanwhile, Super Eagles defender, Leon Aderemi Balogun was also in action as a right back.
