Sevilla Striker Chooses Nigeria Over USA

By Olamide Oyetunji - Super Falcons of Nigeria will be taking part in the Alanya Gold City Cup competition which will take place in Turkey.

The newly appointed gaffer of the African champions Coach Randy Waldrum has invited Ngozi Okobi, Rasheedat Ajibade, Esther Sunday, Asisat Oshoala, Onome Ebi, Osinachi Ohale, Francisca Ordega and other top professionals for the competition.

According to the arrangement, the tournament will take place between 15th to 24th of February in Antalya, Turkey.

Meanwhile, Sevilla striker Toni Payne has officially agreed to commit her international football future to Nigeria against all odds.

Antionette Oyedupe Payne known as Toni Payne is an American-Nigerian footballer. She plays as a forward for Sevilla FC.

The 25-year-old was born in Birmingham, Alabama to two Nigerian-born parents and was raised in the United States.

She has represented USA at U-17 level and was in the team which won the 2012 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship which further enhanced her opportunity of playing for the United States of America at U-20 and U-23 levels.

She has declared her intention to continue her international career with Nigeria but the latest announcement by the Nigeria Football Federation suggests that the former Ajax poacher has been cleared by FIFA to represent the African Champions.
