Wrestler of Nigeria descent Sesugh Uhaa popularly known as Apollo Crews has stepped up to the challenge of contesting for the Intercontinental championship on SmackDown.
On the new year day edition of SmackDown, Intercontinental Champion and former New Day member Big E joined forces with Benue state original Apollo Crew to overcome the duo of Sami Zayn and King Corbin in a non-title tag team action.
At the backstage area, the powerhouse of positivity Big E bragged about the victory and was eager to show that he is a fighting champion.
Big E stated that he is a fighting champion and he will issue an open challenge for the belt next week but Apollo Crews who was beside him stepped up and informed Big E that he will be accepting that challenge.
Apollo Crews mocked Big E by saying he won't have anyone to come out from the dugout to rescue him anytime there is trouble or brawl.
Their Intercontinental Title Match was made official later in the show and it will take place on the 8th day of January, 2021 on Friday night SmackDown.
It must be recalled that Apollo Crews won his first WWE belt in 2020 with the United Championship reign of over 90 days before Bobby Lashley of the Hurt Business overpowered him.
