By Emmanuel Oladele - Nigeria League Giants Enyimba International has finally crashed out of this season CAF Champions League after playing a 2-1 win with visitors, Al-Merrikh. The team bowed out of the competition following a 4-2 defeat on aggregate to the Sudan based team. Recall that the first leg in Sudan ended 3-0 in favour of Al-Merrikh.
In today's game, Malik gave the visitors the lead in the 8th minute before Mbaoma level the game for Enyimba in the 14th minute to take the scoreline to 4-1 on aggregate.
Enyimba forward Kadiri was brought down in Al-Merrikh's 18-yard box, which earned Enyimba a penalty that was well taken by Mbaoma to give Enyimba a 2-1 lead in the 51st minute, but still 4-2 on aggregate in favour of Al-Merrikh.
Al-Merrikh are now through to the group stage of this season CAF Champions League as Enyimba will drop to CAF Confederation Cup.
After the entire game time, it Enyimba 2-1 Al-Merrikh (Enyimba 2-4 Al-Merrikh on Aggregate), so it ended at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba, Nigeria.
