Akwa United beat Abia Warriors to record first victory of the season

By Emmanuel Oladele - The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 3 resumed with Akwa United taking on Abia Warriors on Saturday, the game ended 2-1 in favour of the host Akwa United, who also recorded their first victory of the season with the game.

Ndifreke Effiong opened scoring for the host in the 6th minute of the encounter before Abia Warriors defender Ibukun Harrison levelled the game for the visitors in the 27th minute to take the scoreline to 1-1 and to end the first half.

The second half resumed with Ndifreke Effiong getting his second goal of the evening from the spot to give Akwa United a 2-1 lead in the 59th minute.

After the entire game time, it Akwa United 2-1 Abia Warriors, so it ended at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
