"Pack Your Clothes and Come Back Home" - Reactions as Ghana Beats Nigeria in WAFU Cup

By Olamide Oyetunji - The Flying Eagles of Nigeria suffered a derby defeat to the Black Satellites of Ghana at the ongoing WAFU U-20 Championship in Porto Novo Benin Republic.

Ladan Bosso tutored boys were stunned by an 82nd minute brilliant free-kick against the runs of play with the result almost ending any chance of the team qualifying for the semi-finals, after they drew their first match against Ivory Coast.

In their opening game on Sunday, the U-20 national team were forced to a 1-1 draw by the Junior Elephants as everything in now based on calculations.

Ghana has progressed by the virtue of their three points but they must do Nigeria some favour by executing an excellent job in the last Group B game with Ivory Coast.

The Flying Eagles will have to wait for Cote d'Ivoire via viewing versus Ghana game with the hope that Ghana will beat the Ivorians by at least 2-0, If the game ends in a draw or the Baby Elephants wins, Nigeria will be out.

The winner of the WAFU U-20 Zone B championship automatically qualifies for the 2021 CAF U-20 AFCON in Mauritania.
