Chelsea Star Sent Off For Rash Tackle on Tottenham Teenager

By Olamide Oyetunji - Former Leicester City star Danny Drinkwater was the headline maker for Chelsea Under-23 team on Monday night for kicking out at Tottenham youngster.

Danny Drinkwater's poor storyline continued on Monday night after the Chelsea out of favour midfielder was sent off for kicking out at Tottenham's teenage midfielder Alfie Devine in a Under 23s game at Kingsmeadow.

In a game highlighted by his unprofessional conduct when he was brought down by the inexperienced Alfie Devine, who was also sent-off for his poorly timed challenge, but Danny Drinkwater retaliated by petulantly kicking out at the teenager.

His reaction saw a huge brawl unfold on the pitch at Kingsmeadow, but legendary goalkeeper Petr Cech also acted as the peace maker.

It is not the best of time and yet more misery for the Chelsea man in what has been a disastrous move from the King Power Stadium.

He has had two unsuccessful loan spells Turf Moor and Villa Park with Burnley and Aston Villa last season before being informed that he would not feature in Chelsea squad going forward.

The 30-year-old joined the Blues in a £35million deal from Leicester City in 2017, has not made a senior appearance since March 2018 but now maintaining his fitness with the club's academy players.
