Victor Osimhen Returns to Napoli From Super Eagles Assignment

By Olamide Oyetunji - The Super Eagles of Nigeria will have it all to do in the match day four of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in Freetown.

After playing an entertaining 4-4 draw inside the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Friday, the Gernot Rohr tutored team has been challenged to make a big statement by winning 4-0 in Sierra Leone.

But the three-time African champions will have to do it without their talismanic striker Victor Osimhen who reportedly sustained a shoulder injury and was substituted for Belgian Jupiter League highest goal scorer Paul Onuachu.

To his credit, Victor Osimhen scored one of the goals and had influence in another two while the Super Eagles was apparently all over the Sierra Leone defence.

Italian club SC Napoli has reportedly ordered the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup Golden boot winner to travel back to his European based.

According to Italian media, Victor Osimhen is on his way back to Naples and X-rays has also revealed he sustained no fracture.

Victor Osimhen has scored four goals in three matches in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and he is the only Super Eagles player to have scored in all the games.
