By Olamide Oyetunji - It is not a good news from Delta state as former Super Eagles midfielder Christian Obodo has reportedly been kidnapped by unknown men.
Reports coming out from The Punch in has it that the skillful playmaker Christian Obodo, has been adopted again by some men of the underworld.
Christian Obodo nicknamed the "Bundle of Skills" was kidnapped on Sunday in his hometown of Warri Delta state.
As at the time of this article, it is yet to be known the exact area the abduction took place and more importantly, the whereabouts of the former Udinese of Italy player
It is the second time the former Torino of Italy player will be forcefully taken in eight years and this incident is like a blast from the past.
It must be recalled that Christian Obodo on the 9th day of June 2012, was reportedly kidnapped by gunmen near Warri, Delta State.
And it is the first time a footballer will be kidnapped in Nigeria. However, footballers’ family members had been kidnapped in the past.
He was rescued the following day by the gallant men of the Nigerian police force, no ransom was paid, and suspects were arrested.
Obodo was regarded by many as one of the most skilful and talented midfielders to play for the Super Eagles since the 1994 era and he accumulated 21 appearances and scored four goals from 2004 to 2008.
