By Olamide Oyetunji - Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has made an emergency decision by adding Ikechukwu Ezenwa to the team for Sierra Leone.
According to the reliable portal OwngoaNigeria.com, Ikechukwu Ezenwa who was on standby has joined several other Nigeria senior male national players for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The former Enyimba shot-stopper has in fact arrived the camp located in Benin City of Edo State while it was said that Kaizer Chiefs goalie withdrew from the double header for reasons yet unknown.
However, Gernot Rohr find Ezenwa as the easiest alternative to Cypriot based Francis Uzoho who will find it difficult to come over without preparation. With the development, Daniel Akpeyi is the latest Super Eagles player to withdraw from the squad after Simon Moses, Kenneth Omeruo and Frank Onyeka.
Nigeria is comfortably leading Group L in the qualifying series having defeated Benin Republic and Lesotho in 2019 to claim maximum points.
