By Olamide Oyetunji - Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has arrived in Benin City of Edo State alongside his technical assistants to inspect the condition of the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium.
According to recent instagram publications by veteran Nigerian journalist and former media officer of the Super Eagles Colin Udoh, the gaffer made his first appearance into the venue of the Super Eagles versus Sierra Leone match on Monday night.
Gernot Rohr was spotted wearing the facemask and adequately observing the covid-19 safety protocol of social distancing while same cannot be said about the crowd behind him.
The visitation is very important due to the fact that the Franco-German has expressed his fear concerning the condition of the newly laid natural turf.
The newly refurbished Samuel Ogbemudia stadium will be hosting the team for the first time under the manager who is an admirer of the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo also known as the nest of champions.
However, the team is expected to test the pitch on Tuesday afternoon in their first training session with more invited players also expected to have arrived.
