Gernot Rohr is the Worst Super Eagles Coach- Yakubu Aiyegbeni

By Olamide Oyetunji - Former Super Eagles attacker Yakubu Aiyegbeni is the talk of the town for the supporters of the Super Eagles following his statement about the senior national team.

The dramatic 4-4 draw with the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers has raised few question marks about the team and the former Everton striker also made his opinion known in his latest interview.

“Some of the boys are not good enough, I don’t know where they are bringing them from. Who is inviting these players?

“Our football is getting worse every day. When I was there, people criticise us, but we’re way better than these ones.

“The coach is not good enough, no clue. Gernot Rohr is one of the worst coaches in our history. He is not good enough.”

It must be said that the caliber of attackers we are parading in the current team does not possess the talents of the era of Yakubu Aiyegbeni with the likes of Obafemi Martins, Osaze Odemwingie, Ikechukwu Uche and Julius Aghahowa scoring the goals.

As it stand, Yakubu Aiyegbeni is third best highest Super Eagles leading top scorer ever with Rashidi Yekini and Segun Odegbami in number one and two respectively but time will tell if Victor Osimhen or Kelechi Iheanacho will come close to that.

Meanwhile, Nigeria football supporters are lashing out at Aiyegbeni for saying Gernot Rohr is one of the worst coach due to his recent results.
