Former Nigeria Governor Declares Interest in Buying Arsenal

By Olamide Oyetunji - No dream is too small especially when you are a former Governor from the Federal Republic of Nigeria and it will be a great achievement if it becomes true.

Sports loving and Former Executive Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzo Kalu has disclosed his interest to buy the shares of English Premier League club giants, Arsenal Football Club.

Kalu made it known on Monday through his verified social media platform to put the public on notice about his zeal to buy 35 percent shares in the club following his previous success with his state owned club, Enyimba International FC where he won and defended the CAF Champions League during his tenure as Governor.

Under his watch as the Governor of Abia State, Enyimba International dominated the African continent by winning the CAF Champions League back-to-back in 2003 and 2004.

Enyimba are the first Nigerian team to achieve such feat and the former Governor who was crowned as the Pillar of Sports in Africa same period is optimistic that he can successfully replicate the feat with Arsenal by helping them to win UEFA Champions League for the first time and the English Premier League back to back.

He is not the only Nigerian public figure that has signified interest in Arsenal Football Club before, it mus be recalled that the richest person in Africa, Aliko Dangote has been linked with the London Club for similar reasons.
