Super Eagles to Wear New Agbada Jersey Versus Tunisia

After waiting for so long since the beginning of the year, the Nigeria senior national football team will officially use the new Super Eagles jersey.

In a friendly match scheduled for Austria against North African giants Tunisia also known as the Carthage Eagles, Nigeria will make do with their latest home garment.

In March 2020, Nike revealed the follow-up to Nigeria’s stunning 2018 World Cup kit, and it certainly didn't disappoint.

The American sportswear giants’ previous ‘Naija’ shirt, created for the African nation’s World Cup campaign in Russia, took the world by storm.

Its bold green, white and black design was hugely popular with both football fans and streetwear enthusiasts, and broke records with 3million pre-orders for the jersey worldwide before the tournament even started.

The 2020 edition has been named ‘Swoosh’ home shirt, and it’s a thing of beauty.

It’s a little toned down from the 2018 offering, but still has that balance between retro and traditional African design, and could end up giving the beloved Naija jersey a run for its money.

Nike say the design was inspired by traditional Nigerian fabric patterns while not forgetting the Agbada design.

It was also said they are doing away with template designs for national teams in favour of a more bespoke, hand-drawn efforts.

The away jersey was launched in the 0-1 lose to Algeria and the home jersey will be tested officially against Tunisia.
