By Edikan Akpan - VfL Wolfsburg have signed highly-rated Polish striker Bartosz Bialek from Zaglebie Lubin for €5m.
18-year-old lad rise to fame at Zaglebie by netting nine goals in 19 games in his first season.
Bialek is a 6’3″ tall centre-forward who is already winning comparisons to countryman Robert Lewandowski.
And Wolfsburg hijacked Polish man from other Bundesliga clubs by signing Bialek on a four-year contract.
Speaking upon his signing, Wolfsburg’s new number 21 couldn’t hide his excitement.
“I’m really looking forward to the challenge of continuing my journey in one of the strongest leagues in the world,” he said.
Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer believes Bialek will fit in well at the Volkswagen Arena.
Schäfer said: “We’re very pleased to have signed a very talented player in Bartosz, who at a young age has already produced very good performances in the Polish top flight.
“He’s young and fits our philosophy perfectly. We’re convinced he can take the next step in his development with us and will help us achieve our objectives in the coming years.”
