By Emmanuel Oladele - Nigeria U-17 National team former head coach Yemi Tella, is a man Nigerians seems to have forgotten after his heroic performance at the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Korea.
Tella who was a lecturer at the National Institute for Sports in Lagos died on October 20th in 2007 at the age of 56 after he suffered cancer of the lungs.
Following his World Cup feat in 2007, he was awarded the Member of the Order of Federal Republic by then President Umaru Yar'Adua.
In 2007, he was awarded African coach of the year.
His technical ability is what many Nigerians will not forget in a hurry and I pray that God will give his family the fortitude to bear the great loss.
