Valladolid beat Leganes with Omeruo and Awaziem Partnering each other in Leganes' defence

Super Eagles duo of Kenneth Omeruo and Chidozie Awaziem were partners in Leganes' defence as they were beaten 2-1 by Real Valladolid on Saturday night in the Spanish La Liga Game Week 28.


The game was the club first game after COVID-19 Lockdown and the duo played at the centre-back (wing 5 and 6) position for Aguirre Javier led side. Though Omeruo and Awaziem put up a good performance but was not enough to prevent their side from a 2-1 defeat in the hand of the visitors.

Goals from Enes Ünal and Rubén Alcaraz in each half of the encounter were enough for Real Valladolid to record an away win on Saturday's night. Though Óscar Rodriguez Arnaiz scored from the spot in the 84th minute but was not enough to redeem the image of Leganes.


The loss has compounded Leganes' woe and could be relegated if the situation of things does not change as they remained in 19th position on the log after 28 games.

After the entire game time, it Leganes 1-2 Valladolid, thanks to goals from Enes Ünal and Rubén Alcaraz in the 2nd and 54th minute respectively.
