Jamilu Collins: My Best Game in Nigerian Shirt

By Ilekhuoba Taiye - SC Paderborn 07 and Super Eagles defender Jamilu Collins has singled out the Algeria's game in the just concluded AFCON in Egypt as his best game in a Nigeria’s shirt.

The left-back played the entire duration but could not stop the desert foxes of Algeria as the Super Eagles narrowly lost by 2-1, Manchester City star Riyhad Marhez slotted home a powerful free kick for his team at the last minute to help them book a place in the final of the perennial competition.

A 1-0 narrow win against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia at the third place encounter was enough to hand the west African giants her 8th bronze medal, making the Super Eagles the highest decorated African country with the bronze medal.

“That game was awesome. We were almost through to the final, only for Riyad Mahrez to score that late free-kick," Collins told Super Eagles media team in an Instagram chat.

"I was at my best and it remains my best game so far in the colours of the Super Eagles. I pray for better games though,"
Collins added.

The 25 year old has established himself as an influential and integral figure for his team SC Paderborn 07 ever since they gained promotion to the German Bundesliga.

The defender who has 11 caps fo the Super Eagles will hope to help his team pull out of the relegation waters if football eventually recommences in Germany.
