It is common that people refers to most footballers in Nigeria as 'Nigeria International Footballers' even when they have only played at age group competitions, players in such category should not be referred to as 'Nigeria International Footballer', he or she is only Nigerian Footballer.

A Nigeria International Footballer is one who have played for Nigeria Senior National Football Team and not footballers who have played at different age grade competitions for Nigeria.

Who is a Nigerian Footballer?

A Nigeria Footballer is one who have played in any age grade competitions for Nigeria, it could be U-15, U-17, U-20, or U-23, they are all referred to as Nigerian Footballers and not Nigeria International Footballers because they have not appeared for the Senior National Team.
Players that fall in the category of Nigeria International Footballer can also be referred to as Nigerian Footballer because they are from Nigeria and have played for Nigeria.

Who is a Nigeria-born Footballer?

A Footballer who is from Nigeria and have not played for any of the National teams, either U-15, U-17, U-20, U-23, or senior national team can be referred to as Nigeria-born Footballer.
