Dubbed the 'New Jay Jay Okocha' but never Live Up to expectations, seems to be the most disappointing talent Nigeria ever had

By Oladele Emmanuel - Rabiu Ibrahim is one of the players Nigerians are counting-on to fill the big spot that Austin Jay Jay Okocha left in Super Eagles Midfield after a superb outing at the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Korea where Nigeria emerged Champions.

The then 16-year-old midfielder was outstanding after emerging as one of the star players of the tournament with his superb dribbling skills that looks like when Okocha handles the ball. The most painful thing is that Rabiu Ibrahim never gets to the Super Eagles talkless of filling the big vacuum Okocha left in Super Eagles Midfield.

The 29-year-old attacking midfielder now plays for SK Slovan Bratislava in Slovakia, a club he joined from Gent in 2017 and has so far made 43 appearances for the club scoring two goals.

The former Gateway of Abeokuta star also represented Nigeria at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2009, where Nigeria crashed out in the round of 16 after losing 3-2 to Germany in Egypt.

The left footed dribbler failed to live up to expectations as he was imagined to become the next Okocha, but the Kano born midfielder now plays in a league where Nigerians can not really see him.

What a talent in Nigeria Football but failed to live up to expectations.
