By Ilekhuoba Taiye - Former Nigerian international Mutiu Adeboju has congratulated and praised Asisat Oshoala on her Spanish Primera Iberdrola title feat with Barcelona Femeni few weeks ago.
The decision for the Catalans to be crowned champions was influenced by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RSFF).
Barcelona emerged champions of the 2019/2020 season after 21 games with 59 points, ending the season unbeaten.
The four time African footballer of the year scored a total of 26 goals in 25 games this season to help the 2019 Champions League finalists to their fifth trophy in five years, thereby being the second highest goal scorer behind teammate Jennifer Hermoso who was three goals ahead of her.
Adepoju congratulated her and stated that Barcelona played excellently last season despite not clinching the trophy but congratulated them for triumphing this season.
"I have to congratulate Asisat [Oshoala],"
"She is always a winner. She has gone to Barcelona and did them a great play last season even though they could not win".
"But this year, they have won the Primera Iberdrola in which I am very happy for her and for Barcelona too even though Real Madrid [Tacon] is there and other clubs." Adepoju told Goal.com
The three time AWCON champion has now become the second African woman to win the Spanish Primera Iberdrola title since Equatorial Guinea's Jade Boho won titles with Rayo Vallecano in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
