Top 3 Most Underrated Super Eagles Stars

The Nigeria Super Eagles currently have some players who are not given so much attention probably because of the team they are currently playing, moreover those players have been fantastic in recent time but no much recognition. Nigfooty Sport is taking time out to look at 'Top 3 Most Underrated Super Eagles Stars', they are;

1. EMMANUEL DENNIS BONAVENTURE
Emmanuel Dennis has impressed for Club Brugge since his arrival in 2017 scoring 19 goals in over 71 appearance for the Belgian giants. The climax of his career perchance came in November last year after scoring a double against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the UEFA Champions League group stages. Club Brugge were demoted to the Europa league after coming third behind Real Madrid and Paris Saint German in Group A.

In the Europa League round of 16, he terrorised and almost humiliated Manchester United with his dribbling skills and goal threats, scoring Club Brugge only goal in a 6-1 aggregate.

Club Brugge might have exited the two prestigious competitions but the 22 year old has established himself enough to be Brugges stand out performer this season. This is no awe as he’s already procuring “Tempting” offers from big guns in Europe.

Though Club Brugge "heightened" his wages and offered him a lucrative contract to see him staying until 2022, it’s almost impossible to stop him if he gets a propitious offer.

Newcastle, Sheffield United, Watford, Monaco, Sampdoria and Borrusia Dortmound are said to be hunting for his signature in the summer transfer window.

Published on the transfer market, the Nigerian is now the third most expensive player in the Belgian League only behind KAA Gent’s Jonathan David (25m Euros) and teammate Krepin Diatta (21m Euros).

Just before the 2019/2020 season in July, the forward had a value of 7.50m Euros but his prince tag has ‘deservedly’ doubled. He has now become the fifth most valuable Nigerian player behind Wilfred Ndidi (45m Euros), Alex Iwobi (32m Euros), Samuel Chukwueze (30m Euros) and Victor Osimhen (30m Euros).

2. MOSES SIMON
Moses Simon football career in Spain have never been a bed of roses after failing to justify himself in Levante’s first eleven last season. He resoluted to set on foot a new football life with the French Ligue 1 side Nantes, after being loaned out by his parent club for the rest of the season.

The 24 year winger have proved to be a very pivotal figure for the Yellow Canaries this season after notching 9 goals and 9 assist in all competitions for the 13th place Nantes, including his first career hattrick against FC Paris in the French Cup. The Nigerian seems to have generated a valid impression with the fans after he was voted Nantes player of the month in October.

After making a good first impression, Simon seems to have bought his way to the team after it was reported that Nantes are already in the race to secure him permanently from Levante. But Levante have reportedly rejected a bid from Nantes after persisting on his return to his parent club.

Life hasn’t been rosy for Levante either, as they are currently occupying the 13th position in the La Liga table; 4 points off the relegation “waters”.

3. JOSHUA EROWOLI MAJA
Also known as Josh Maja, not conversant to many Nigerians but Josh Maja is an underrated talent.

He began his professional career with Sunderland scoring 17 goals in 49 appearances. His exploits for Sunderland never went unnoticed as he was snatched by French ligue 1 side, Bordeaux in January.  The striker has about 8 goals and 5 assists to his name in just 7 starts this season.

The 21 year old made his international debut for Nigeria against Ukraine after featuring as a late substitute. Because of the scorching talents in the Super Eagles attacking department, the striker has not received a call-up to any other international matches by coach Gernot Rohr.

Of course Josh Maja can give a "rejuvenated" Iheanacho and an "electrifying" Osimhen a run for their money if given a chance in the star-studded team.
