By Oladele Emmanuel - Amid interest from Inter and Lazio for Chelsea forward, Olivier Giroud, the French striker has been handed a year of contract extension by Chelsea which run until 2021. This will prevent Chelsea from losing the French striker on a free transfer as the 33-year-old current contract with the Blues expires at the end of 2019/2020 season.
The Frenchman has been faced with limited game time at Chelsea in recent time, with the emergence of Tammy Abraham but will hope to get more playing time with a year of contract if Chelsea could not secure a deal elsewhere for him in the summer.
It is uncertain if Giroud will still remain at Chelsea at the end of the season but the Blues have only exploits the clause in his contract to prevent them losing the player for free, definitely a move to Inter or elsewhere is still possible for the former Arsenal Striker.
