Liverpool are on their way out of UEFA Champions League, see why...

Liverpool will face Atletico Madrid on Wednesday March 11 in the 2nd leg of the Round of 16 UEFA Champions League. Recalled that the first leg in Spain ended 1-0 in favour of Atletico Madrid.

There are three key factors that shows why Liverpool may not go beyond the UEFA Champions League round of 16, they are;

• The 1-0 deficit: Liverpool will be going into the second leg of the game with Atletico Madrid with a 1-0 deficit against a dangerous Diego Simeoni side who have been superb defensively this season.

Any goal against Liverpool at Anfield counts as away goal which is enough to put the Reds in danger of being eliminated in the round of 16. Liverpool must work harder to prevent Atletico from scoring, just a goal for the visitors at Anfield might end Liverpool's dream of progressing into the quarterfinals.

• The loss at Watford: Liverpool on Saturday were humiliated by Watford who are second from the bottom on the English Premier League log, the game ended 3-0. The defeat for Liverpool in this game tend to have damaged the team spirit, no one would have expected Watford to defeat the League Leaders by 3-0. The team Spirit seems to have been affected by this game, if the team failed to recover from this defeat, it might earn Atletico an upper hand on March 11.

• Liverpool's activities before the game: Liverpool will this Tuesday lock horns with Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round before they host Bournemouth in the English Premier League on Saturday.

Chelsea will put everything in the game as the FA Cup remains the only hope for the Blues silverware this season.

On the other hand, Bournemouth will continue their fight against relegation and will be absolutely ready to upset any team as they seek survival.

Liverpool may have been exhausted before the game against Atletico Madrid and the outcome of the two games might also be an advantage to Atletico Madrid if Liverpool failed in the game against Chelsea and Bournemouth, making them to go into the game against Atletico Madrid with a defeat.
