After a failed bid to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly during the January transfer window, Manchester United could step up their effort to sign the 28-year-old Senegalese in the summer.
If United must secure the service of the Napoli defender, they must be willing to meet the Senegalese £127m release clause which become active in June.
The highly-rated centre back was also on the radar of several European clubs during the January transfer window, but could not complete a move away from Napoli.
The valuation was revealed by Corriere dello Sport and Corriere del Mezzogiorno both are media outlets.
