Ighalo becomes the first ever Nigerian to play for Manchester United

By Iskilu Rasheed Akanni - Manchester United have signed Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua on loan. The Nigerian forward becomes the first ever Nigeria player to play for Manchester United.

Recall, that Odion Ighalo has once played as premier league player for Watford football club where he scored 40goals in 100 appearances across all competitions.

Ighalo Odion left Watford for the Chinese Side, Changchun Yatai in 2017. In 2019, he moved to Shanghai Greenland Shenua.

The Nigerian forward has achieved alot in front of goals so far, he has scored 131 goals in 322 appearances across all clubs in his career.

Gunnar Solskjaer while speaking on Ighalo said: "Odion is a fantastic and experienced player. His  presence here will give us an option at the centre-forward for short spell he is spending with us.

"A great soccer player, energetic and Well professional, he will make the most of his time here."
