Bayern Munich has been hit with a massive injury blow as they prepare for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash with Chelsea.
Reports from Bayern Munich confirmed that Croatia International Ivan Perisic will miss the first leg at Stamford Bridge on the 25th of February due to injury he suffered in training.
The Club also confirmed the report on the Official website, "FC Bayern will be without Ivan Perisic for the time being. The 31-year-old Croatia international sustained a fracture to his outer ankle during training on Tuesday.
"The ankle has to be screwed together. It will take around four weeks for the injury to heal, then he'll begin recovery training," Bayern coach Hansi Flick said.
"It is not easy for us at this moment in time because Ivan has been in good form, and his dynamism and experience have helped us a lot," the coach added.
The winger could return before the second leg tie on the 18th of March.
