Chelsea are leading the race to sign Benfica ace

Chelsea are said to be leading the race to sign Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes.

Chelsea are understood to have tabled 18-month loan offer for the player who is also linked with Manchester United, Everton and West Ham.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been handed £150m to bring a reinforcement to the Blues current squad.

Chelsea will have to manage the available resources to acquire the needed materials with Jadon Sancho expected to join the team before the end of January transfer window if Chelsea are able to meet the demand of Borussia Dortmund.
