A report on Sunday claimed that Manchester United will table an official offer of £51m for Sporting Lisbon midfielder this week as they seek to land the Portuguese to Old Trafford.

Manchester United are looking forward to bolster their midfield for creativity and goalscoring as midfielder Scott McTominay is currently out injured and with speculation that Paul might be leaving the Theatre of Dreams this January.

From speculation a deal may be reached soon for the Sporting Lisbon midfielder.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said he's sure of getting the board backing to carryout signs during the January Transfer Window.

The midfield maestro is also linked with Tottenham Hotspur.
