Breaking: West Ham Dismiss Pellegrini After Leicester Defeat

Manuel Pellegrini reign as Hammers' Manager came to an end after Leicester City rendered WestHam United 2-1 on Saturday.

The 66-year old Chilean dismissal, became necessary after dreadful run of form which left the London Club one point above the relegation zone and fourth from the bottom.

He had earlier led the team to a brilliant start this season going on a six match unbeaten streak after defeat on the Opening day to Manchester City.

However, after Manchester United's triumph in late September, they have only won twice in their last 13 league games but none at home.

Shortly after the encounter with the Foxes, the Club released an official statement via her website, confirming the Sack of the former City Manager.

"It is with great disappointment that we've had to make this decision," joint-chairman David Sullivan said.

"Manuel is a gentleman and it has been a real pleasure to work with someone of his calibre. However, it has become clear that that a change is required to get the club back on track in line with our ambitions this season.

"We felt it was necessary to act now in order to give the new manager as much time as possible to try and achieve that."

The Hammers spent about €80 million ($104.62 million) in the summer transfer window on the duo of Sebastien Haller and Pablo Fornals only to have a below par performance as we run through the second phase of the league.

West Ham will host Bournemouth in a continued battle for survival encounter on New Year's day.
