Arsenal to battle Bayern and Borussia Dortmund for Serie A forward

Arsenal will have to battle Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund for the service of Napoli forward Dries Mertens.

The 32-year-old forward is set to leave the Italian side as he's heading close to the end of his contract in Italy.

Reports also have it that Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are interested in the attacker who is likely not to get another contract from the club as he was involved in mutiny. Mertens was involved in the act to disobey Club owner's plan to send them on a training retreat to improve results.
According to Calciomercato, the three clubs are ready to go into battle for the signature of the starman.

Nigfooty.com gathered that the player may be available in January for a cheap price of £8.5m, as he's in the final year of his contract with Napoli and moreover due to his short contract.
