Abolore, while attending to questions from journalists on the 2018/2019 NWPL season, showered encomiums on his players who have displayed great football artistry, saying: “They are truly the Pride of Lagos.”
“Our goal was to maintain Premier league status, no one gave us a chance, but the Star girls (Dream Stars Ladies) were gallant to show a class. we do communicate before and after every match, we relate as one family, they understand our philosophy and everyone is committed to that, that is why it we could all smile in the end” he noted.
Dream Stars Ladies recorded one of the results in the women league with a 4 – 0 win over Heartland Queens of Owerri in week 3 at the Agege statdium as the only team to score more than four goals in a match after Bayelsa Queens’ 5 – 1 win against relegated Kaduna Queens.
Salisu Anuoluwapo was the only player to get a goal past GoalKeeper of the Season Nkiruka Obdinma during regular season after she has gone five matches without conceding a goal.
To complete the highlights for the Pride Of Lagos, Oladeji Bunmi’s thunderous goal from within her half which earned her Goal of the Season Award was a goal to remember in the league and for the 15 year old defender.
