The Nigeria U23 National Team were defeated by their Ivorian counterparts at the Africa U23 Cup of Nations in Egypt on Saturday evening, 0-1 it ended in favour of the Ivorians.
After a goalless first 45 minutes, a controversial foul decided by the referee in the Nigeria 18-yard-box, earned Nigeria Olisa Ndah the second yellow card, the referee immediately awarded the Ivorians a penalty in the 69th minute, the spot kick which Nigeria goalkeeper Abubakar managed to save with his left hand, but it was uncertain if the ball had crossed the line, but the referee awarded a goal to the Ivorians in the process, Silas Gnaka is the goal scorer for Soualiho Haidara led side in the 71st minute.
The Nigerians could not come back from the 1-0 deficit until the end of the game.
The Ivorians currently top Group B log with 3 points. The second group game between South Africa and Zambia will kickoff immediately after the Nigeria vs Ivory Coast encounter.
After 90 minutes, it Nigeria 0-1 Ivory Coast, so it ended at the Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.
