Rangers international of Enugu in few hours will confirm the official appointment of Coach Salisu Yusuf as their new technical adviser.
According to reports coming out of the Coal City on Wednesday morning, the former Kano Pillars gaffer is about to be unveiled to the public by the Rangers international hierarchy as Technical Adviser and Mbwas Mangut as Chief coach
According to sources inside the camp of the former Nigerian champions, both coaches are believed to be in the Coal City as at the time of filing this report, as one of them was seen around the Rangers Avenue camp of the Enugu based club.
“We have concluded plans to hire both Salisu Yusuf and Mbwas Mangut as Technical Adviser and Chief Coach.
“Plans are also ongoing to have them unveiled in the next 24 hours, as time is of the essence, considering the tasks ahead,” a close source revealed only to AOIFootball.com.
Yusuf, who has been undergoing a refresher training programme with a top European club, has been contacted, according to the source, while Mbwas Mangut who before now has been occupying the top job at Delta Force FC, is already in Enugu for the big occasion.
“Both coaches have been contacted, and they showed interest in taking up the assignment,” the source concluded.
Recall that Salish Yusuf was was banned from football for a year for collecting bribe.
Yusuf was found guilty of collecting bribe after he was caught on camera collecting N357, 000 ($1,000) from journalists posing as football agents who wanted him to select two players for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The act was shown in a documentary that highlighted corruption in Ghanaian football by the BBC African Eye.
After the video was published, the 57-year-old was given a one-year ban from football by the NFF Ethics Committee and was immediately reinstated back to international duty post as the U-23 Olympic Eagles Coach if not for the intervention of fans and journalists as all the Nigeria Football Federation cabinet members were tagged bad eggs.
Enugu Rangers are currently 15th in the Nigeria Professional Football League with 4 points from a possible 15 after five league matches in the young 2019/2020 Season.
The next assignment for the Flying Antelopes will be a CAF Confederation Cup encounter versus Egyptian club Pyramid City FC this weekend in what will be their first group stage match
